Soon, apply online to get Gurugram civic body's nod for building plan

Delhi/NCR, There is good news for architects and builders in the city. Soon, MCG is planning to start a mechanism to approve building plans online to fast-track the application process.
For online approvals, the applicant will have to register on a link provided on MCG's official website (www.mcg.gov.in) under the town planning section, and upload all necessary documents in PDF/JPEG format along with a drawing of the building in AutoCad (DXF file), as per the Haryana Building Code 2017.
A trial run will be conducted from June 13 to June 19 during which citizens will be allowed to raise objections and give suggestions to the senior town planner. On June 20, the process will go online.
"It is mandatory that the architect who desires to apply online must have a membership of the Council of Architects, without which he/she may not be allowed to submit a building plan, which will be rejected. In case of any difficulty or an enquiry, the applicant can contact senior town planner," said an official.
"This facility will fast-track the approval of building plans. Applicants can track the movement of their application. Their building plan will be approved at a much faster pace, with more transparency. The applicant will receive an SMS on the proceedings of the application as well," the official said.
At present, it takes about a month-and-a-half for the approval to come through. Authorities claim that after going online, the entire process will take less than a month. "More than the time factor, applicants will be able to track their application and know exactly where their file is lying," said Sudhir Chauhan, senior town planner.
